Splinter is showing at the Vienna International Film Festival (Viennale ‘09) this Saturday, with an encore performance at midnight on Halloween!
Looking at a few web sites, this seems like one hell of a cool film festival, and the Halloween screening really sounds like a blast.
Despite growing up in London, I have never really travelled through Europe. Vienna is supposed to be one of the most beautiful cities, and I can’t think of a better way to travel than as a guest of a major film festival.
Alas, with an indie like Splinter, directors do not seem to get flown all over the world to attend these events. Or at least I don’t. LOL. Would be fun though.

Sony and Ghost House arranged a special private screening of The Grudge 3 for some of the cast and crew today. It was the first time most of them had seen the film since its completion, and the first time anyone has seen it on the big screen. I’m happy to report that the response was great. Everyone seemed really pleased with how the film came out, and how it played with an audience.
It was great to see everyone and finally let them share in the fruits of all their hard work. Johanna Braddy, and Gil McKinney from the cast were there, as well as editor John Quinn, some of the producers, and the screenwriter Brad Keene.
I’ll be interested to see how this screening compares to the upcoming screening at Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors in Chicago this Saturday. As always you can order a DVD of the movie from Amazon.com.
