Cinematographer Nelson Cragg Wins ASC Award

Nelson Cragg Wins ASCI’m overjoyed to learn that my good friend, and Splinter cinematographer, Nelson Cragg was just honored with a second award from the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) for his work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Nelson received the Conrad L. Hall Heritage Award from the ASC in 2004 shortly after getting his masters from USC.

Nelson and I decided to worked together again on Splinter after a very rewarding collaboration on the Ghost House Pictures project Devil’s Trade. Other projects which Nelson has lensed include Boogeyman 2, Special, The Canyon, many other feature films, and countless shorts.

My hat is off to you Nelson, I couldn’t be more proud.

Second Splinter Commentary Track

Splinter editor David Michael Maurer, and cinematographer Nelson Cragg joined me for a second audio commentary track to be added to the Splinter DVD and Blu-Ray when it hits stores in the coming months. It was great to hang out with them both, and chat about the film.

So far the special features content on the DVD will include the following commentary tracks:

  1. Me, with stars Shea Whigham, Jill Wagner, Paulo Costanzo
  2. Me again, with Nelson Cragg (DP) and Dave Maurer (Editor)

You can pre-order the Splinter [Blu-ray] or Splinter [DVD] from Amazon.com.
