I was asked by someone on Twitter today (thanksĀ @authorsbooks) if Splinter is available to watch instantly like it is in the US on NetFlix, iTunes, XBoxLive and Amazon. (Links on the right)
So, I asked the good folks across the pond at Icon Entertainment who are distributing Splinter in the UK (and Australia from 9/9/09) and they gave me the scoop:
Splinter is available right now on-demand from Virgin Media and Sky Box Office, as well as the UK iTunes Store.
So, that’s pretty cool. And I hear there will be more options in the near future. I love where this technology is going, and I really think this kind of technological advance is exactly what the film industry needs to survive the threat of on-line piracy. Give the audience a way to see a film on their terms and they will embrace it.
