Splinter Hits #1 on "Best of 2008" Lists

The year we lovingly refer to as 2008 is very nearly over, and with that the horror aficionados are putting out their “Best of 2008” lists. Splinter has been seen on at least 17 of them. Here are a couple that gave Splinter the number one slot. We’re honored.

The Ten Best Horror Movies of 2008 - Splinter #1

Film School Rejects Best of 2008

Splinter lands in the top slot for 2008 at FilmSchoolRejects.com, a site with a special place in my heart since I didn’t go to film school.

Splinter was easily my best reviewed film covered by The Coroner’s Report, and with good reason.  The script was tight and fast, the run time and pace was excellent, and the blood and scares were great.  A novel concept that channeled all of my favorites, from Alien to The Thing to  Evil Dead II.   This flick had what I thought was the coolest monster of the year, strong acting and generally kicked ass.  Splinter will be available on DVD in early 2009.”

AMC

And earlier I told you about AMC’s Horror Hacker top ten list, which was the first list to put Splinter in the top slot.

And this just in: The Last Blog on the Left has Splinter on the list too, at #4.

Two More "Best of 2008" Lists

Fatally Yours

Fatally-Yours.com just published all their reviewer’s Best of 2008 lists and two of their seven-strong army of horror gurus claimed Splinter as one if their picks.

Noel’s list has Splinter at #5:

“It’s creepy some of the time, gory most of the time, and entertaining all of the time.”

Jeffery Timbrell’s picks put Splinter at #7:

“Not only the best monster movie of the year, but certainly one of the most original and dynamic monster movies in ages.”

“…what they pull off is one of the finer examples of creepy monster movies in years. Splinter is an amazing film…”

Thanks guys!
